Cryogenic skin tag removal is done using Cryotherapy or Cryosurgery in which extremely cold temperature is used to destroy abnormal tissue or a skin tag. This process is done using either liquid nitrogen or cold aerosol sprays. There are several aerosol sprays that can achieve temperature up to - 70 degrees (minus).

While there may be several side effects of getting a skin tag removed through cryosurgery, it is still one of the most reliable methods used by the professionals. Before going for the procedure you should consult your insurance company. Skin tag removal is typically considered a cosmetic procedure for which you don't get any reimbursement from the insurance company.

There's some exceptions that apply to this though. If the skin tag is a medical concern for you, then it might be covered by your insurance company. Some skin tags cause irritation, infections or are even cancerous and are needed to be removed for sure. In cases like these the chances of the procedure being covered by your insurance are extremely high.

Nowadays there's several home remedies as well that people use to get rid of skin tags at home
